I’m a career long professional salesperson and sales leader. Over the past 20 years I’ve had the pleasure of working for some of the greatest companies in the world across the Technology, Finance, Business Information and Data sectors.

Happily, for the majority of my career to date I’ve been successful, yet I’ve also experienced my fair share of failures (great learning experiences). I’ve worked with lots of good people and a small number of not so good people. I’ve ridden the waves of buoyant economies, felt the headwinds of tougher times (watching the Lehman Brothers collapse in September 2008 and the onset of the “credit crunch” counts as one of them) and seen changes in the world of selling come along at an extraordinarily fast pace.

I’ve often toyed with writing a Blog although to this point have not done so. The age old excuse that I am far too busy with the day to day pressures of “making the number” and leading a large sales team always seemed to get in the way. Well it’s time for me to throw caution to the wind and give something back to the proud profession that I love.

In this Blog you will find me writing about all things sales, sales management and leadership. I have no schedule or grand content plan in mind other than to offer my genuine thoughts across varied topics from the perspective of a practising sales leader.  I am not promoting a consulting or training business or indeed any type of product, service or solution. I am simply writing for the sheer enjoyment of it and with the hope that some of you will find it valuable enough to maybe even read my ramblings from time to time.
